Our Motto
St. Thomas Higher Secondary School The Marthoma Church Educational Society Thiruvananthapuram
The St. Thomas Higher Secondary School was established by the Mar Thoma Church Educational Society in June 1984 as Mar Thoma High School with the Bishop of the Trivandrum-Kollam Diocese of the Marthoma Church as its President and the Metropolitan as its Patron.

The school follows the 10+2 syllabus of the Kerala State Education Department. Our team of able experienced, well - qualified and dedicated teachers ensures quality education. But more than that, it helps promote the idea that the individual and the society are interdependent and that it is binding on the individual to make his/her contribution to the economic and social good of the community.

The school stands on a 30-acre campus at Mukkolakkal , adjoining Thiruvananthapuram city - about 1.5 kms east of Mannanthala Junction. Away from the noise and pollution that characterizes urban life, the campus with its panoramic landscape and lush greenery is indeed a haven to the student community.

  • Taking inspiration from the United Nations Environment Programme's(UNEP) agenda, Turning Off the Tap on plastic pollution, the Higher Secondary students of STHSS aimed to recreate this structure at our school with months of brainstorming before finally leaping into action in October 2023 with the approval of the Secretary of MTCES. This structure was completed with the unwavering determination and hard work of our students that spanned over 2 and a half months. Through this we hope to achieve the objectives of spreading awareness against plastic pollution and reminding young ones that every day is environment day. The tap is a welded iron structure weighing 35 kg. It is securely fixed to a ladder-structured 20 ft tall pole which is erected using concrete, creating a striking visual effect of a levitating tap. With the help of scaffolding, the tap installation and bottle attachment were done. The tap is a welded iron structure weighing 35 kg.
